Warranty.
What is covered on the equipment we supply and on the work we carry out — and how to claim if something goes wrong.
Product warranty
Every system we supply carries the manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty period differs by product and manufacturer and is shown on the product page or on your invoice. The warranty runs from the date of delivery and covers repair or replacement of the defective part.
Consumables — filter cartridges, reverse-osmosis membranes, UV lamps, sleeves, resin and O-rings — are warranted against manufacturing defects only, not against normal depletion. Their service life depends on your water quality and usage.
Installation workmanship
Where our team installs the system, we guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from the installation date. If a connection we made leaks or fails, we return and put it right at no charge. This guarantee does not extend to existing plumbing, municipal supply issues, or work carried out by anyone else.
Statutory cover
In addition to any manufacturer warranty, the Consumer Protection Act gives you a 6-month implied warranty of quality on goods bought in South Africa. Nothing on this page limits that right.
What is not covered
- Normal wear and consumption of filter media and cartridges.
- Damage from freezing, water pressure or temperature outside the manufacturer's specified range, or from water hammer.
- Damage from untreated water that falls outside the system's rated inlet conditions — for example heavy sediment or iron on an unprotected unit.
- Failure to service the system or replace cartridges at the recommended intervals.
- Installation, modification or repair by anyone other than us or an approved technician.
- Accidental damage, misuse, tampering or removal of serial numbers.
- Cosmetic marks that do not affect performance.
Keeping your warranty valid
- Keep your invoice — it is your proof of purchase and warranty start date.
- Have the system installed by us or by a qualified plumber, in line with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Replace cartridges and service the system at the intervals we recommend, and keep a record of it.
- Use genuine replacement cartridges suited to the system.
How to claim
Email Skoon@skoonwater.co.za or call +27826519702 with your invoice or order number, the product, and a description and photographs of the fault. We assess the claim, and where it is covered we repair or replace the item. Within our installation regions we can attend site; elsewhere we arrange collection or replacement through the courier.
